Dr. Shawki Ibrahim has over 20 years experience in Corporate Accounting, Financial Analysis, and Managerial Accounting Consultancy. He has served as a Chief Financial Officer, Auditor, and Controller, and has provided accounting and consulting services to clients in various industries, including: banking and finance, real estate, holding companies, insurance, oil & gas, manufacturing, engineering, warehousing and logistics, offshore importing and exporting, automobiles, hospitality, construction and education. Dr. Ibrahim has experience working with both small businesses and multi-national corporations, and has been involved in the integration of mergers and acquisitions. His financial expertise has helped various clients in identifying significant cost saving and revenue enhancing opportunities, and his evaluation studies and consultancies have assisted numerous companies and venture capitalists in making critical acquisition, partnership and investment decisions. He is also the founding partner of Fouad Salam Accounting Company in Dubai. Dr. Ibrahim's professional experience has principally been gained with the Horwath International Audit Bureau of Certified Public Accountants, a globally-recognized, leading auditing firm, where he was a senior partner for 7 years, working both in the United Kingdom and the UAE. His work involved market research, financial analysis, and the development of audit programs. He also worked on preparing and verifying financial systems, reports and processes for clients and junior auditors, and was instrumental in the development of various accounting systems and programs. In addition to his professional practice, Dr. Ibrahim spent three years teaching various MBA programs. He served as a senior lecturer at the American University of Beirut (AUB), the Doctor Scander College in Lebanon, and the Americanos College in Cyprus, where he taught courses in Advanced Accounting, Costing, Business Mathematics, Statistics, and Financial Management. He is also the author of the well-received book: Just-in-Time Accounting: Increasing Efficiency and Reducing Cost, as well as many articles published in leading business journals and magazines. Dr. Ibrahim earned his Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance, with honors, from the University of London, and his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the College of Financial and Economical Sciences in England. He has also obtained the following international certifications and fellowships: Chartered Financial Professional (ChFP) and Chartered Financial Management Analyst (CFMA) from the American Academy of Financial Management, and Chartered Accountant (CA) and Certified Financial Consultant (CFC). He also has a fellowship in the Association of Financial Planners (FAFP), the Association of International Accountants (FAIA), and the Institute of Financial Consultants (FIFC).
